Student Internships: What is a Sandia Internship?

A Sandia internship provides an intern with work experience under the direction of a Sandia mentor. Student internships vary, depending on the mentor and the type of work involved in the student internship. Most of our student internships are in technical areas. However, we do have some student internships in business areas, as well as some clerical positions. Co-Op: Student Internships

One of the many student internships that Sandia offers is co-op internships. Students who participate in a co-op take a semester/quarter off of school to work as an intern. Some interns earn academic credit for co-ops. It is the responsibility of the intern to make those arrangements with their college or university, but we will help if needed. Co-op student internships provide a great opportunity for those who are willing to make the commitment. Our student internships are offered at the same time as most academic semesters/quarters, and for those who live within commuting distance, we offer student internships that allow students to work part-time, year round, and full time during vacations.
