Through cooperative education, undergraduate and graduate students in all technical disciplines experience hands-on research opportunities in the areas of science, math, engineering, and computer science. While normally offered in the spring and fall, in some cases interns have participated in a summer cooperative education. Cooperative Education provides the opportunity to work under the guidance of the nations top scientists and engineers. In addition, cooperative education students participate in workshops, seminars, tours, and a poster session and student symposium. Some cooperative education students are also selected to present their projects at national conferences. Cooperative Education at Sandia

Students who participate in a cooperative education program at Sandia take a semester/quarter off of school to work as a cooperative education intern. Some interns earn academic credit for their cooperative education internships. It is the responsibility of the intern to make those arrangements with their college or university, but we will help if needed. Cooperative education is a great way for students to get the kind of experience they can not get anywhere else.
